Willamette Week is celebrating 35 years in business, presenting a Trashed @ 35 party at Backspace. Basically the magazine (via Klutch and Richard Speer) asked a group of artists to take old WW covers and re-spin them. I took this as an opportunity to use a bigger NRA target for a self-portrait, also using a cover from Art Forum (with Wonder Woman) and Art in America. The opening is tonight, First Thursday.

I love the works where you are the model! I was wondering why you did not do this more often.......always good to see you!
Thanks Virginia. People over the years have suggested I should do more self portraits but I have a love/hate with the idea. Just enough objectification everyday as it is plus who does she think she is. But recently when I received these big targets, I thought a series of self portraits using them might be appropriate. Thanks for the encouragement.
I like.
Really enjoyed your piece, Eva. Nice to see a brand-new work in a form you have been essaying for awhile.. I thought the rifle your arm is resting on was pregnant with possible meanings, e.g., women artists commandeering the male-dominated art milieu, by force if necessary! Congrats on a strong piece, and thank you for participating in the show.
