Golden Road

I've had this golden road for quite awhile. It reminds me of roads around where I grew up in southern Oregon, the trees, the lush uncertainty, all of it. I tried to do several things with it but none were really perfect until I found this sort of Hitchcock blonde. There is so much I could say about living with the high and the low, the done and the undone - and trying to reconcile it all. This is true as a woman and as an artist and also, just as an American these days. While I am every woman I make to some degree, this piece hit a little more home.

Art Art Zine

Out of the South comes a female-run publication called Art Art Zine. Their new issue focuses on artists from Portland and I am one of them. Thanks to John Burnam for the fun interview.

A Valentine-ish image by Tracey Emin, found on Gallerist NY.

I'll be off the air for the next few weeks as I prepare the house for sale. Art Focus will be skillfully manned by Wendy Webb and Paige Prendergast while I am gone. This isn't to say I've abandoned KBOO. While we are in pledge drive I've had fun with the phones, taking pledges and raking in cash.

The Edge of Vision

A fabulous photography show here in Portland is "The Edge of Vision" at Lewis and Clark.  Here's the review I wrote for Visual Art Source.
